Demond Went To The Gym Less And Still Lost Weight And Got Ripped


My name is Demond and I love to workout. I have been into health and fitness since my college days. However, this past summer I was lifting, but not watching what I was eating and my weight ballooned up to 180 lbs! Needing a change, I immediately started changing my eating habits. Then, I ran across the Turbulence Training Transformation contest, and entered to see what I could do.

Doing Turbulence Training was a different paradigm for me. I used to go to the gym 4-5 times a week for weight training, and I never did cardio. For the past 12 weeks, I only went to the gym 3 times per week and added interval training, which really kicked up the fat loss.

Here are some keys that made the difference for me:

Food journal: When I keep track of what I eat, I eat less. I used the MyFitnessPal app on my phone to keep track of my food and water intake. You can't out work a bad diet.

Social support: When I started, I didn't have a whole lot of social support at home. The Turbulence Training Forum helped me out here, and I didn't use that resource enough.

Stress eating: I never realized that I did this. When I get angry I have tried to stuff my feelings with food and, of course, that never actually helps. This bit of realization really helped out toward the end of the 12 weeks.

The Workouts I used were: Meatheads MRT, Buff Dudes Hot Chicks and Bodyweight Cardio 3.

Inches off waist:  1.5"

What I'm really excited about is that I gained in the areas I wanted to (except chest), and I lost inches in the places I wanted to. I consider my 12 weeks a success, and I also learned I don't have to be in the gym 4-5 hours a week to get great results.
